Glen Tanar running festival,  July 2026

An unforgettable trail running experience on the Glen Tanar Estate set in Scotland’s spectacular Cairngorms National Park in Royal Deeside, providing the perfect base for our Trail Running Weekend. You will run across tracks and trails next to rugged heather moorland through towering Caledonian pine forests and alongside the winding River Tanar.

New for 2026!

 explorr is Scotland’s newest outdoor endurance festival, taking place on the edge of the Cairngorms National Park in Banchory from 28–30 August 2026. Built around gravel cycling and gravel running, the weekend combines racing with live music, talks, films, great food and a strong community atmosphere. Serious about sport. Open to all abilities. Ride it. Run it. Live it.

Event venue is about half a mile from  Sandy's.

The Beast race -  September 2026.  Test your stamina over 30+ obstacles! The event venue , Knockburn Loch, is about one mile from Sandy's.

DoonthaBrae - Ride Aberdeenshire Enduro Events

Enduro is a form of mountain bike racing, that started out in Europe with influence from car rally racing and motorbike enduro racing. The concept was simple: get yourself to the top of a mountain and race to the bottom time-trial style.

A night time race of either 8K or 15K through the forests and up onto the hills of Glen Tanar, 16 miles (30 min drive) from Sandy's.
